Jason Landreth AKA: Lando
Head Baseball Coach
Coach Landreth is a Sacramento native who played High School baseball at Christian Brothers High School. He attended American River College where in 1996 the team won the BVC Championship over rival Sac City College. Coach was offered scholarships to play at several D1 schools across the country but decided to join the Texas Tech Red Raiders for the inaugural BIG 12 season.
In 1997 Texas Tech won the inaugural Big 12 Championship and earned Texas Tech’s first #1 National ranking, holding down #1 for over 4 weeks. Lando helped Tech race out to a 40-4 record and he still holds the single season double’s record (29) and hit .379 for the Red Raiders. As a Senior In 1998, Lando led Texas Tech to a Big 12 Tournament Championship where Lando was named ALL Big 12 Tourney for the second year in a row.
In 1998 Jason started his professional career for the Lubbock Crickets of the Texas-Louisiana League where he hit .377 and was named the Texas-Louisiana League Rookie of the year. In 1999 he was signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball organization, and played for the Williamsport Crosscutters, where he was named a New York Penn League All-Star. In 2000, he played for the Hickory Crawdads where he was named to the South Atlantic League All- Star team.
In 2001, Jason played for the Solano Steelheads of the Western League and was named an ALL-STAR after leading the Western League in multiple offensive areas. After a 5 year absence from professional baseball, Lando at the age of 34, returned to professional baseball for the San Angelo Colts, and would lead the United League in Home runs and RBIs in 2009.
